Ferrari 360 Modena - Corner (Limited Edition)

Ferrari 360 Modena - Corner (Limited Edition)

from $60.00

The 360 Modena, was announced at the 1999 Geneva Salon, to replace the aging 355 range. Arguably, the 360 helped Ferrari regain it’s vaunted status as a carmaker which during the 90s, had suffered from a reputation tarnished with dated designs and lack-luster sales. The new Pininfarina body styling was a progressive leap toward a modern, yet purely Italian aesthetic. It was a radical departure from Ferrari classicism, as gone was the central egg crate “radiator” grille. The design did feature some retro details, like the engine compartment intakes in the rear wings that hinted of 250 LM and the Dino, plus the traditional round 2+2 rear light treatment. For me this model set the tone and visual language for a new century and the cars that followed—the 430, 458 and 488.

Driven in partnership with Alcoa, the 360 Modena is the first production Ferrari to be constructed entirely in aluminium. Chassis, bodyshell and suspension wishbones are all made from this light-weight material.

This photographic print is limited to 1999 prints across all reproductions to commemorate the launch year of the Ferrari 360 Modena. Originally, I was going to base the edition on the production number of gated, manual transmission 360 Modena’s but this number is contentious. Some believe it to be about ~29% of total US production from 1999-2005 which would be about 1880 examples. This is based on NHTSA production numbers and a guesstimate on the percentage of manuals. Regardless of your preferred transmission, the 360 and 360CS is one of the last analog Ferrari models you can acquire. Just enough modern tech to make it comfortable, reliable and exciting but not too much computerized driving that you feel like an afterthought.

The Rossa Corsa (Racing Red) example pictured includes a manual transmission, Scuderia side Ferrari shields, Daytona seats, modular three-piece wheels and challenge grills.
